Deficient prepulse inhibition is reduced by methylene blue (Basic Blue 9) hydrate administered intraperitoneally once for 25 minutes to male NMRI mice at doses of 50 and 100 mg/kg [1]. In mice expressing full-length aggregation-promoting human Tau, methylene blue hydrate (20 and 40 mg/kg; oral; once daily for 6 months; CaMKIIα-tTA transactivating mice) preserves cognitive abilities [2]. TBI-induced edema and neuroinflammation are lessened, as well as acute depressive-like behavior, in male BALB/c mice administered with a single intravenous injection of methylene blue hydrate (2 mg/kg) once daily [3]. TBI-treated male BALB/c mice receive an intravenous injection of methylene blue hydrate (2 mg/kg) once daily for one day, which lowers the percentage of inflammatory factors [3].
