Prostaglandin receptor, a sub-family of cell surface seven-transmembrane receptors, are the G-protein-coupled receptors.Ten distinct prostaglandin receptors on different cell types are currently known. G-protein-coupled receptors are a subclass of cell surface seven-transmembrane receptors that prostaglandins bind to. The following are the names of these receptors: FP-FP, IP1-2-IP1, IP2 receptors, TP-TP receptor, EP1-4-EP1, EP2, EP3, and EP4 receptors. A class of lipid molecules known as prostaglandins, which are produced enzymatically from fatty acids and resemble hormones, play vital roles in the bodies of animals.
